The Ancient Star quilt is handmade by a Pennsylvania Amish woman. The star pattern is of the oldest and most familiar of all the traditional quilt patterns, but great precision is needed to make all the star points meet and lie flat! This Ancient Star king size quilt is sewn in antique colors of navy, green, burgundy, and tan. A dark green border surrounds the quilt. The quilt is all hand-quilted by one lady to insure uniform stitches. On a king bed, this quilt will have approximately 17 inches of drop.

Although the fabric pieces are stitched by machine to guarantee tighter sewing, all the quilting is done by hand. 100% cotton fabrics compose the top and bottom of the quilt. The batting sandwiched between those 2 layers, however, is 100% polyester. This polyester batting guaranties both warmth and exceptional washing results.
You will discover our quilts to be really large in length and width. In fact, nearly all of our quilts are generous enough to eliminate the necessity for a dust ruffle and pillow shams. Just as mattress heights vary, each quilt's dimensions is different. We list the quilt's measurements together with the calculated drop for you to compare to the sizing you want. I love my purple Lone Star Quilt…it was a big investment for me! I bought a Twin size that was listed as fitting a Queen and it did (using my ruffle). Thank you for having accurate measurements and good photos AND updated notes on availability. I found one a couple of years ago on another site out in PA and I ordered it and my card was charged. Then, I was called to say it wasn’t available and would be 6 months if I wanted it made. Your emails were great and was surprised by the fast delivery. PS. My grandma made lots of quilts – log cabin, lone star and many others about 25+ years ago….your quality is on par with hers.
