The Eight-Point Star quilt has a scalloped border all the way around and is very neatly hand-quilted by one Amish lady, which insures uniform stitches in 303 yards of hand-quilting. On a queen sized bed, this quilt will allow 21 inches of drop.

Though the fabric pieces are sewn with each other by machine to guarantee tighter stitching, all the quilting is done by hand. 100% cotton materials compose the top and bottom of the quilt. The batting sandwiched between those two layers, however, is 100% polyester. This polyester batting guaranties both warmth and superb washing results.
The majority of our quilts are large enough to eliminate the necessity for a dust ruffle and pillow shams. Just as bed heights are different, each quilt's sizing differs. We designate the quilt's dimensions in conjunction with the calculated drop for you to compare to the size you are trying to find. It is important to do your homework ahead of buying!As a matter of fact, these quilts are indeed machine-washable! We advise complying with these standards for the best care of your heirloom quilt:
I love my purple Lone Star Quilt…it was a big investment for me! I bought a Twin size that was listed as fitting a Queen and it did (using my ruffle). Thank you for having accurate measurements and good photos AND updated notes on availability. I found one a couple of years ago on another site out in PA and I ordered it and my card was charged. Then, I was called to say it wasn’t available and would be 6 months if I wanted it made. Your emails were great and was surprised by the fast delivery. PS. My grandma made lots of quilts – log cabin, lone star and many others about 25+ years ago….your quality is on par with hers.

My husband loves the ocean, we live 1 hour away, so I bought this quilt “for him”. Our bedroom has several nautical items in it and is painted a sea foam blue. We love it and we pray for the quilter of the Sailor’s compass quilt nightly.
