Lone Star Quilt-Twin

$499.00

Measures 80″ x 113″ long.

The Lone Star quilt is a beautiful example of a traditional quilt pattern. It is made with bright purple and white fabrics with a scalloped border. One Pennsylvania Plain woman hand-quilted this quilt with 211 yards of hand-quilting. It is initialed and dated. On a twin-size bed, this quilt will allow 20 inches of drop per side.

Homemade quilts combine the warmth of a bed cover with a unique story told by the quilters from Lancaster County, PA. Every homemade quilt is as unique as the family, busy mother or Amish ladies group who uses a needle and thimble to thread stitch on the quilt. Some quilts involve hundreds of hours and thousands of stitches to create a unique patchwork quilt that will last for generations.

A quilt is not only a relaxing bed cover: it is also a piece of art. The artists who develop our quilts choose quality vivid materials and arrange them in an eye-catching masterpiece. Select from our selection of over two hundred handmade quilts for a quilt that best matches your style.

Although the fabric pieces are sewn together by machine to make certain tighter stitching, all the quilting is done by hand. 100% cotton materials make up the top and bottom of the quilt. The batting sandwiched in between those 2 layers, however, is 100% polyester. This polyester batting guaranties both warmth as well as outstanding washing results.

You will discover our quilts to be rather large in length and width. The majority of our quilts are generous enough to reduce the need for a dust ruffle and pillow shams. Just as bed heights are different, every quilt's measurements is different. You'll find we publish the quilt's dimensions in conjunction with the calculated drop for you to compare to the size you are looking for. Please do your measuring prior to your purchase!

Are our quilts washable?

Fortunately, our quilts are undoubtedly washable in a washing machine! We recommend complying with these guidelines for the best care of your heirloom quilt:

Did you know?

For hundreds of years, many types of strategies have been perfected to make it easier for quilt-makers to piece multi-angled quilts together. One of these methods is called paper piecing, which is commonly applied to combine the challenging points of the Mariner's Compass quilt. Paper piecing, as it name suggests, uses a distinct paper pattern on which the fabric segments are sewn. The pattern guides the needleworker to correctly assemble the pieces together so that the finished top will lay out flat. Procedures such as this are a fabulous support to our quilt-makers!
